Volunteer Opportunities

Playroom Volunteer

Volunteering in the playroom is a wonderful way to make a difference in the lives of children experiencing domestic violence. Playroom volunteers work in our shelter providing childcare to infants, toddlers, preschool and school age children and help provide a nurturing and supportive environment where children can express themselves, socialize with their peers, and build connections with caring adults through the experience of positive play. The playroom also functions to allow parents to be able to attend case management meetings, support groups, therapist sessions, and other programming parents need but would otherwise not be able to attend without this support. Training consists of online and in-person orientation; topics include: child development, domestic violence, and the effect of domestic violence and trauma on children. Please feel free to contact us with any questions and thank you for your interest in helping children and families impacted by domestic violence!
